Joren: "mom, do you know what a platypus is?

Joren: "mom, do you know what a platypus is?" "what is it Joren?" It's an animal with a plaid nose and squid feet."

"vis is my regular crayon. When it's nature time I wike to hode it, but when it's winter time I wike to put it in here for waiter. (later)."

Joren insists that his favorite animal is a hedge chog. Not a hedgehog, but a heg chog.

After Joren's time out today I got down on his level and carefully explained to him that he is smart and he needs to listen to his heart and his mind and not to other people when they tell him to do something bad. He looked up and said, "banana?" It's his way of deflecting responsibility since he fully understands the situation. Pure genius I tell ya. What if I tried that? Maybe when the bishop calls this week and says, "Hey, did you get that food order done?" I'll just say, "banana?"

Yesterday at dinner: "Eirik, what do you want to be when you grow up?"
"I don't know, maybe a wizard."

Back in Aug:
As we were waiting in the Home Depot parking lot I said, "Eirik, It's 95 degrees outside, I sure wish you were dressed for summer." He replied, "Mom, I'm dressed like a hot hot man."
